ROCK HILL, S.C. — Belmont Abbey senior defender Cecilia Müller was named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday by the league office.
Müller anchored a dominant Belmont Abbey defense that recorded a pair of shutouts in wins over Lincoln Memorial and Coker. The Crusaders did not allow a single shot against LMU and limited Coker to just one shot on goal across both matches. A steady leader on the back line, Müller has started every game this season, guiding a unit that continues to set the standard defensively in conference play.
She is the third Crusader to earn player of the week honors after
Sarah Schumacher and
Lily Willard did so earlier this season.
The Crusaders return to play Tuesday against Converse at 6 p.m. at Alumni Field. The game will be counted as a nonconference contest.
