PEMBROKE, N.C. -- Sophomore
Khamani Wertz scored a career-high 19 points, including three three-pointers, but UNC Pembroke built an early lead en route to an 82-60 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 1-10, 0-8, while the Braves improve to 11-5, 9-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wertz hit 50 percent overall (5 of 10) and from three-point range (3 of 6), while being percent on all six free throw attempts. He also dished out an assist.
- Daniel Lubamba tallied 14 points, including making all four of his shots from beyond the arc.
- Jordan Patton grabbed a team-high five rebounds, while Judah Sault was the assist leader with three.
- Belmont Abbey's nine three-pointers as a team were a season-high.
