FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Belmont Abbey men's soccer opened the Conference Carolinas schedule with a scoreless draw against Emmanuel Saturday night at the Stephen Lee Complex.
Saturday's contest was the conference opener for both teams and it was the first meeting since the Conference Carolinas tournament last season.
Goalkeeper
Will Whitman made four saves to earn his first clean sheet of the season while Belmont Abbey took 10 shots against the Lions.
With the result, Belmont Abbey is now 1-1-2 on the season while Emmanuel is 1-0-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first shot for the Crusaders came off the foot of Pat Hissim in the 15th minute.
- Alexander Ljusberg took two of his team-best three shots in the first half.
- Jaxon McAlees had both shots on target for the Crusaders. Adam Cooil also had two shots off the bench for the Abbey.
- Emmanuel heled a slight advantage in shots with 11 compared to 10 for the Abbey.
- Both teams had four shots on target.
- Belmont Abbey had four corner kicks compared to just one for the Lions.
