BELMONT, N.C. --
Jean Teson scored the opening try in each half as Belmont Abbey opened a 19-0 lead, then played even for the remaining time for a physical 31-14 victory over Southern Virginia in Rugby East action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The contest was the first in Rugby East play as The Abbey (3-0, 1-0) moved from the Southern Rugby Conference this summer. The Knights fall to 2-1, 0-1.
After back-to-back home games, the Crusaders hit the road for four straight starting Sept. 27 at Walsh.
