Clemson, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey opened a 17-0 lead early in the second half, then held on for a 17-10 victory over Clemson in collegiate rugby action Saturday afternoon. The match was the season opener for the Crusaders.

The Abbey will play its home opener next Saturday against North Carolina.
