BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team put together another strong effort for its second straight Conference Carolinas victory Saturday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders were able to rally and earn a 4-3 victory over Lees-McRae.
Belmont Abbey swept all three doubles matches to earn the points while
Mackenzie McCarthy,
Alexis Burkhalter and
Rebekka Collyer all won in No. 4, 5 and 6 singles, respectively. Both McCarthy and Burkhalter won in both doubles and singles play while Collyer earned the clinching point to seal the win for the Crusaders.
With the win, Belmont Abbey improves to 14-9 overall, 4-1 in Conference Carolinas. Lees-McRae is now 9-4, 3-1 in league play.
UP NEXT
- The Crusaders take a few days off before playing a pair of matches in the Eastern part of the state starting against Chowan on April 12 following Barton at April 13.
- The matches are scheduled for a 1 p.m. and 11 a.m. starts, respectively.
