MURFREESBORO, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team continued its good run of play recently as the team swept Chowan 7-0 Friday at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.
The Crusaders won all seven matches contested with the other two wins coming by default.
Hanley Riner and
Mackenzie McCarthy both won in No. 1 doubles and each won their respective singles matches to lead the way for the Abbey.
Belmont Abbey improves to 15-9 overall, 5-1 in Conference Carolinas play. Chowan is 1-11 overall, 0-6 in the league.
The Crusaders conclude the road trip to the Eastern part of the state with a match at Barton at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wilson.
