FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga./BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team competed for the first time following the Easter break with a Conference Carolinas match at Emmanuel and a home match against Winston-Salem State Wednesday afternoon.
The Crusaders dropped a close match against the Lions, 4-3, but earned a 7-0 sweep over the Rams at the Reidy Tennis Center.
Belmont Abbey took the doubles point over the Lions and won two matches in singles play. The Crusaders won all nine matches against Winston-Salem State and did not drop a set.
With Wednesday's result, Belmont Abbey is now 12-9 overall, 2-1 in Conference Carolinas. Emmanuel is now 7-8, 3-2 and Winston-Salem State is 3-9.
