SUMTER, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned a return trip to the Conference Carolinas Championship match as the Crusaders swept No. 2 seed Emmanuel 4-0 in the semifinals Saturday morning at the Palmetto Tennis Center.
The No. 3 seed Crusaders earned two wins in doubles to earn the point and earned wins in No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to earn the victory.
Christian Winstead earned wins in both singles and doubles play while
Andres Golindano and
Kai Lloveras earned wins in singles for the Crusaders.
The Abbey will be in the conference championship for the fourth straight time that the tournament has been held. Additionally, the Crusaders will look to earn a conference tournament title for the third straight year.
Belmont Abbey will face No. 4 seed Mount Olive in the championship match at 9 a.m. Sunday with the winner clinching the automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament. The Crusaders defeated the Trojans 4-3 back on April 20.
