BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned two wins on the penultimate day of the regular season against Johnson & Wales and Francis Marion Friday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
In the morning match, the Crusaders defeated the Wildcats 4-3 while earning a 5-2 victory over the Patriots. Against Johnson & Wales,
Zuhayr Alam-Ahmed won in both singles and doubles play for the Abbey.
In the match against the Patriots, the Crusaders swept the doubles matches and took four of the six singles matches to earn the victory.
Christian Winstead and Tim Slemler earned victories in both singles and doubles play.
With Friday's results, Belmont Abbey is now 21-18 overall, 5-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Johnson & Wales is now 9-6 overall and Francis Marion is 10-7 overall, 4-3 in league competition.
