Men’s Tennis Celebrates Senior Day With Victory over UMO

BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team celebrated its seniors and extended its match-winning streak to six games as the Crusaders earned a 4-3 victory over Mount Olive Saturday at the Reidy Tennis Center.

Five seniors were honored in a pre-match ceremony: Renzo Fassioli, Andres Golindano, Julian Gonzalez, Jaden Johnson and Kai Lloveras.

The Crusaders got the match off to a good start thanks to taking two of three doubles matches to earn the point.

Both the Abbey and Mount Olive split the singles matches, 3-3, but it was Golindano who earned the clinching point to give the Crusaders a win against a matchup of Top-35 ranked programs according to the ITA.

Christian Winstead also earned two wins on the day in both singles and doubles play

Belmont Abbey closes the regular season 22-18 overall and 6-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Mount Olive is 14-4 overall with an identical 6-2 record.

The Crusaders will await their seeding for the Conference Carolinas Tournament next weekend in Sumter, S.C. pending the rest of this weekend's results.
