FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Belmont Abbey and Emmanuel battled their way through five sets Wednesday night, but in the end it was the Crusaders who rallied for a 3-2 (20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13) victory in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action.
With the win, the Abbey improves to 15-4 overall and 10-1 in league play. The Lions fall to 8-16, 3-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Matthew Staskunas tallied 25 kills and a ,327 hitting percentage while Zach Puentes added 19 kills.
- Joseph Morris registered a career-high 54 assists. The total ranks tied for ninth-most in history for single match.
- Morris also chipped in eight digs and four blocks.
- Ryan Charles led the defensive effort with 12 digs and fell just shy of a double-double with nine kills. Both were career-bests
