Zach Puentes tallied 17 kills and a career-high 11 digs for his first career double-double and
Matthew Staskunas added 11 kills, leading Belmont Abbey to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 27-25) victory over Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action Friday night.
With the win, the Crusaders (13-4, 8-1) stretch their lead to two games in the conference standings over Mount Olive (13-7, 6-3) and North Greenville.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Puentes hit .429 overall with 17 kills against five errors in 28 chances. He also served a team-high three aces and had two block assists.
- Ethan Rehmann added seven kills, while Joseph Morris added six.
- Morris dished out 34 assists and had three blocks and three digs.
- Garrett Hockman led the way with four blocks
- Belmont Abbey hit .284 as a team, including .296 in the first set and .297 in the second. The Trojans hit .211 overall.
