PARK CITY, Kan. — Maxwell Kiel and
John Carayiannis both concluded their seasons at the NCAA Championships Friday at Hartman Arena. Both wrestlers went 1-2 on the day with Carayiannis earning his victory over Coker's Omar Armengol with a pin in the consolation round.
As the No. 7 seed, Kiel won his opening match and first NCAA match in his career with a 4-3 decision over Pitt-Johnstown's Cooper Warshel.
This was the third straight year that Carayiannis had qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships while Kiel was making his second appearance.
The championships conclude on Saturday.
