SIOUX FALLS, S.D. —The Belmont Abbey wrestling team saw its season come to a close Friday as six Crusaders competed on the first day of the NCAA Division II National Championship Friday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Luke Kunath won two bouts while
Skyler Caban and
Caleb Moore each had one win in the opening session but each wrestler saw their respective runs come to an end in the evening sessions on Friday.
As a team, Belmont Abbey scored 6.5 points and finished tied for 27th after the opening day of competition. The six wrestlers were the most that Belmont Abbey had sent to the national championship in program history.
