BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team earned a pair of wins to start off a busy week by earning two wins over Averett Wednesday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders earned a 7-0 victory in the opening match and followed that up with a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.
In the first match, the Crusaders won eight of the nine matches that included all six singles matches.
Rebekka Collyer,
Elizabeth Vollmin and
Leilany Sanchez all earned wins in both singles and doubles play.
During the second match, Belmont Abbey rallied to earn victories in five singles matches after the Cougars swept doubles play.
Taylor Reid earned the clinching point in that match for the Crusaders.
With Wednesday's results, the Crusaders are now 7-4 on the season. Averett is now 2-3.
