BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team returned to the court for the first time in nearly two weeks as the Crusaders hosted Augusta Thursday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders took two of three matches in doubles to earn the point but Augusta came away with the 5-2 victory.
Hanley Riner and
Mackenzie McCarthy won in No. 1 doubles while
Elizabeth Vollmin and
Leilany Sanchez won in No. 3 doubles for The Abbey.
Kaitlin Nguyen earned a singles point by opponent retirement.
With the results, Belmont Abbey is now 4-4 overall while Augusta is 6-3.

- The Crusaders will play two matches on Friday, March 8 at the Reidy Tennis Center.
- The Abbey starts with a match against West Virginia Wesleyan at noon followed by a match against Gardner-Webb at 3 p.m.
