Kyle Frazier topped 20 points for the fourth time this season with a team-high 21 and
Mason Taylor added 15 points, but Francis Marion's 53.0 percent shooting led to an 88-68 victory over Belmont Abbey in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Wednesday night.
The Crusaders close the regular season at 11-17 overall, 9-9 in league play, while the Patriots improve to 14-12, 12-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- DJ Holloway grabbed a team-high six rebounds, while Frazier chipped in five.
- Khamani Wertz dished out five assists, with Holloway adding four.
- Belmont Abbey forced 19 turnovers with a margin of +7, but were outrebounded 46-28.
- Francis Marion connected on 53.0 percent for the contest, including 48.6 percent in the first 20 minutes. Meanwhile, The Abbey countered at 35.9 percent overall and 30.8 percent after intermission.
- After the Crusaders scored the first basket, FMU tallied eight straight points and never trailed again. The hosts held a 42-25 lead at halftime.
- The margin reached as many 34 point midway through the second half, but a late 14-0 run cut into that.
