BELMONT, N.C. -- Trinity Cassidy tallied six points on three goals and three assists, but Lee held off a second-half rally by Belmont Abbey for a 17-10 victory in women's lacrosse action. The Crusaders trailed 15-3 at halftime, but was able to cut the deficit to seven twice in the second half.

With the results, The Abbey falls to 3-2 on the season, while Lee improves to 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Katelyn Miller also scored three times for Belmont Abbey, while Hailey Carroll and Abbey McCarthy each tallied two goals to complete the scoring.
• Four players grabbed two ground balls each -- Summer Eddinger, Kacey Kubarewicz, Hannah Hendrickson and Elizabeth Hommel.
• Belmont Abbey won 18 of 29 draws with Emma Pherson gaining five of those.
• The Flames outshot the Crusaders 34-25 overall and 26-17 on goal.

• Belmont Abbey returns to Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday when it travels to Emmanuel.
