CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey Rugby swept its way to the Cup title Saturday in the first round of the Southern Rugby Conference Sevens Tournament. The Crusaders defeated Duke, Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State during pool play, then took down East Carolina.

The championship game against UNC Wilmington went overwhelmingly to the Crusaders.

The second round of the SRC Tournament takes place March 23 at Wingate. The results of the first two rounds are used to seed the final event in April.
