BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team opened up the spring 2024 schedule with a 5-2 victory over Mars Hill Thursday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center. It is the second straight win that the Crusaders have had over the Lions this academic year.
The Abbey took two of three matches in doubles to earn a point and won four of the six singles matches to earn the victory.
Hanley Riner and
Mackenzie McCarthy earned wins in both doubles and singles play while
Leilany Sanchez and
Lily Aranyos earned singles victories.
Elizabeth Vollmin and
Rebekka Collyer teamed up in doubles to help earn the point for the Crusaders.
Belmont Abbey improves to 2-0 on the season while Mars Hill is now 0-2.
