BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey field hockey team closed out its regular season on a positive note as the Crusaders defeated Coker 1-0 on Senior Day at Alumni Field.
Casey Etter scored the lone goal of the game in the first quarter and it stood up throughout the game as
Chloe Parker recorded her 19th career shutout in her final game for the Abbey.
Prior to the game, seven seniors were recognized in a pregame ceremony:

Caitlin Struckhoff,
Jessica Rybicki,
Alexis Harris,
Casey Etter and
Chloe Parker. The senior class leaves with accolades such as the program's first postseason victory and
The Crusaders conclude the season with a 4-12 overall record and 4-10 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. Coker finishes with a 3-12 overall record and 2-1 2 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Carys Barnes made her first career start for the Abbey.
- Etter's goal came with 2:55 remaining in the first quarter.
- Her goal was one of eight shots in the first half for the Abbey and was the 30th of her career, the most in program history.
- Chloe Parker made three saves in the second quarter and finished with four for the game.
- She finishes her career with 341 saves, the most in program history.
- Belmont Abbey out-shot Coker 27-5 overall and 12-4 in shots on goal, both season highs.
- The defense held strong as Coker had just two shots in the second half.
- The Crusaders also had 13 penalty corners on the afternoon.
