Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team continued its run of Northwest Division opponents as the Crusaders faced Converse Wednesday evening at Weisiger Stadium.
An early goal proved to be the difference as Belmont Abbey fell 1-0 to the Valkyries.
With the result, Belmont Abbey is now 7-3-2 overall and 5-2-2 in Conference Carolinas play. Converse is 5-4-1 and 3-1-1 in league play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Converse got on the board early with the goal in the eighth minute from Hannah Liebig.
- Austin Bowling took the first shot of the match for the Abbey in the 22nd minute. The Crusaders took nine shots overall in the match with five on target.
- Mia Muckenthaler led the Crusaders with three shots on the evening to lead the Abbey attack.
- Brianna Sroka and Ryleigh Dougherty both saw time in goal for the Crusaders in the match.
- The Crusaders had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

- The Crusaders will step out of conference play this weekend for a contest against Wingate at 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
