Box Score 2 NEWBERRY, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey wrapped up its opening weekend of action with two more matches at the Newberry College Volleyball Invitational. The Crusaders started the day with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-14) setback against Lander, then fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-13) to Auburn-Montgomery.

THE AUBURN-MONTGOMERY MATCH
- Cameron Young led the team with nine kills, while McCullough added six. Eight different players were part of the 25-kill effort.
- Schellenberg tallied 18 assists and four digs.
- The Crusaders served a season-high eight aces -- three by Riley Nickol, two each by Addie Eiland and Young and one by Trinity Bradley.
- Bradley added a team-best 11 digs as the libero.
UP NEXT
- The Abbey plays the second of its two in-season tournaments next weekend at USC-Aiken.
- The Crusaders will open with the hosts Pacers at 11 a.m. on Friday before meeting Lenoir-Rhyne at 3 p.m.
- Carson-Newman and Augusta are the Saturday opponents.
