Parry Tallies Six in Record-Setting Win

BELMONT, N.C. -- Logan Parry scored six goals and seven other Crusaders found the net in a record-setting 14-0 victory over Virginia State in women's soccer action Saturday at Alumni Field. The Trojans were playing their first game in program history.

The Abbey (2-0) broke the school record of 12 goals against Coker on October 10, 2009, in topping double figures for third time in school history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Parry scored her first four goals over the first 8:59 for a 4-0 lead. The Crusaders were up 8-0 at the break.
  • Gabriela Enciso and Samantha Collins each tallied a goal and three assists, while Caroline Roche scored two goals and added an assist for three points.
  • Haley Long, Kaitlyn Briones, Sabrina Cunha and Alyssa Espinosa also found the net.
  • Cunha and Espinosa also chipped in to the team's 12 assists.
  • Three goalkeepers combined for the shutout with Briana Sroka playing in the first half. Olivia Egbor (23:37) and Sydney Ferst (21:23) split time during the second stanza.
  • Belmont Abbey outshot Virginia State 48-0.
