MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Sophomore Luke Thierfelder repeated as Conference Carolinas javelin champion, throwing 61.11 meters (216'-10.75") on his fourth throw, highlighting Belmont Abbey's first day at the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men's Track and Field Championship. His effort also earned him first-team 

Later in the day, Brian Sause also earned all-conference honors, placing third in the 3000m Steeplechase.  Seven Crusaders worked their way into tomorow's finals.

Belmont Abbey stands third with 35 points, trailing only North Greenville (44) and UNC Pembroke (35).
