Matteo Miselli tallied 16 kills and eight digits and
Matthew Staskunas added 12 kills but it was not enough as top-seeded North Greenville eliminated Belmont Abbey 3-0 (25-23 ,25-22, 25-21) in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas men's volleyball tournament Friday evening.
The fourth-seeded Crusaders ended the campaign at 15-16 overall while NGU (19-7) will play for its second straight league championship tomorrow night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miselli hit .200 with 16 kills against eight errors in 40 attempts. He also added two assists, a service ace and a block assist to his stat line.
- Staskunas was just a little bit better with a .214 hitting percentage on 12 kills and six errors in 28 attempts. He also registered a service ace and two blocks.
- Matthew Maxwell dished out 30 kills, while adding seven digs and three blocks.
- Daniel Cerqua tied for the team lead in digs with eight.
- North Greenville hit .314 in the contest, with 46 kills and 14 errors in 102 chances. The Abbey hit just .183 (38k-19e-104a).
