BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team earned a doubleheader split in the final day of regular season play Saturday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center. The Crusaders dropped a 7-0 match to Catawba to open the day before bouncing back with a 5-2 victory over Barton.
Alexis Burkhalter won in both doubles and singles play against Barton and helped the Crusaders take the doubles point against the Bulldogs.
Belmont Abbey closes the regular season at 18-10 overall and 7-3 in Conference Carolinas. Catawba is 13-6 overall while is 9-10 overall, 5-3 in the league with one match left to play.
