BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team extended its winning streak to five matches thanks to a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Johnson & Wales and Chowan Thursday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The Crusaders won all their respective matches over the Wildcats and Hawks and did not drop a set the entire day.
Thomas Roberts earned victories in doubles and singles play over Johnson & Wales with
Xaveam Van Wijk and
Alex Turner doing the same against Chowan.
Belmont Abbey improves to 17-19 overall and 6-2 in the conference. Chowan is 2-16, 1-6 in the league while Johnson & Wales is 2-7.
UP NEXT
- The Crusaders host one final regular season doubleheader against Barton and Catawba Saturday at the Reidy Tennis Center.
- The matches are scheduled for a 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. start, respectively.
- The team will celebrate Senior Day prior to the beginning of the Barton match on Saturday morning.
