Men's Tennis Earns Two Wins On Senior Day

BELMONT, N.C. — The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team ended up with plenty to celebrate as the team closed out the regular season with a pair of victories on Senior Day Saturday at the Reidy Tennis Center.

The team opened the day with a 5-2 win over Catawba and closed out the Conference Carolinas slate with a 7-0 sweep over Barton. The win caps off a six-match winning streak for The Abbey to close the regular season.

Prior to the doubleheader, a group of 10 seniors were honored. They include: Francisco Aran Martin, Brooks Berry, Alex Crabtree, Marco Garofalo, Gabriel Martin, Thomas Roberts, Jai Rowe, Nelson Stafford, Alex Turner and Dean Zoglio.

Zak Vince and Gabriel Martin earned wins in both singles and doubles play over Catawba while the Crusaders won all nine matches against the Bulldogs.

Belmont Abbey closes the regular season with a 19-19 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the conference.

Catawba is 6-14 overall while Barton is 8-9 overall and 5-2 in the league.
