BELMONT, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey won the doubles points and took five of six singles matches to earn a 6-1 victory over North Greenville Friday in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action. The hosts won two of the three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead before winning four singles matches in straight sets. The other two matches at No. 1 and No. 4 singles took three sets and were split by the teams.
Frankee Hendricks, Kayla Vaughn and
Elizabeth Vollmin each picked up a pair of wins.
With the victory, BAC improves to 12-9 overall and 3-3 in league play. NGU falls to 3-10, 2-3. Belmont Abbey returns to action tomorrow when it hosts Emmanuel at 2 p.m. at the Reidy Tennis Center.
