AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team finished off a strong day on the court with a doubleheader sweep of Augusta Wednesday at the Newman Tennis Center.
The Crusaders won the opening match 4-2 and closed the day out with a 4-3 victory late in the afternoon.
Alexis Burkhalter and
Elizabeth Vollmin both won three matches on the day with both student-athletes winning twice in singles play and once in doubles.
With the two wins, the Crusaders improved to 6-3 this season.
UP NEXT
The Crusaders will play in a total of three different matches Saturday at two sites.
One group of student-athletes will stay in Belmont to face West Virginia Wesleyan at the Reidy Tennis Center.
The others will go on the road to Young Harris to face the Mountain Lions at 11:30 a.m. followed by a matchup with North Georgia at 3:30 p.m.
