Sydney Pon hit safely in both games, totaling three hits, and
Jordyn Stefani had a pair of doubles in the nightcap, but Belmont Abbey dropped both games of a doubleheader at 23rd-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne, 10-2 and 10-0.
With the result, the Crusaders fall to 3-5 overall, while the Bears improve to 12-1.
THE OPENER
- The Abbey registered five hits, including a double and home run by Pon.
- Bailey Presley, Trinity Wall and Mackenzie Sprinkle each had singles.
- After falling behind 10-0, Pon homered down the left field line in the fifth inning.
- Alannah Browne struck out two, but walked four and allowed eight hits in 3.1 innings. She falls to 1-3 with the loss.Â
THE NIGHTCAP
- Belmont Abbey registered three hits, a first-inning single by Pon and doubles in the second and fifth by Stefani.
- Adeline Cox faced seven batters in the first inning, with each of them scoring. It was her first decision of the year.
