BELMONT, N.C. -- Matteo Miselli tallied nine kills and Matthew Staskunas added eight, helping Belmont Abbey to a 3-1 (25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19) victory over Fort Valley State in collegiate men's basketball action Friday night. Playing their second match in as many days, the Crusaders used 11 players.

With the win, The Abbey improves to 5-8 overall, while the Wildcats fall to 2-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gage Giller hit .385 with seven kills against two errors in 13 chances.
• Jack Walsh dished out 19 assists in three sets, while starter Matthew Maxwell added 12 in his two sets.
• Ethan Rehmann served three of the Crusaders' eight aces.
• Alex Winiarczyk was the only player to reach double figures in digs with 10.
