Jackson Leads Three in Double Figures at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. -- Wade Jackson led three players in double figures with 15 points but Belmont Abbey could not overcome 14 turnovers as Lenoir-Rhyne earned a 79-66 victory over the Crusaders Tuesday afternoon.

The Abbey falls to 3-8 overall as it wraps up it pre-Christmas schedule. The Bears improve to 8-3 as they enter the mandatory seven-day break from all basketball activities.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jackson hit four field goals, two from three-point range, and was a perfect five-of-five at the free-throw line.
  • Jaylon Simpson tallied 12 points, while Jacori Owens added 11 points.
  • Darius Kane led the rebounding effort with 10. It marked just the second time this year that a Crusader reached double-digits on the boards.
  • Kane also dished out a career-high seven assists.
  • Belmont Abbey shot 42.3 percent overall and from three-point range. It also hit 11 of 12 free throws.
