INDIANAPOLIS – The Belmont Abbey wrestling team traveled to Indianapolis for its final tournament before the Christmas break as the team competed at the 44th Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
 
Nine Crusaders competed at the annual showcase event that brings together one of the strongest fields in all of Division II.
 
John Carayiannis and Maxwell Kiel each won two bouts in their respective weight classes. Skyler Caban won two bouts in the consolation bracket while Kyler Pickard and Mason Kump won two bouts on the day. In total, Belmont Abbey earned 20 points for the day.
 
The event concludes Sunday with the semifinals and finals in each weight class along with the remaining consolation matches. The full results can be found here.
