BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Jenna McCullough tallied a season-high 14 kills and Ella Schellenberg dished out 33 assists and made seven digs, but No. 7 seed Converse earned a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 33-31) over No. 12 Belmont Abbey in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders end their season with a 5-20 overall record.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Cameron Young and Sarah Wilson registered seven kills each.
• Riley Nickol served five of Belmont Abbey's eight aces.
• Young, Wilson and Lola Sultenfuss each had two blocks.
• Tyler Case led the defensive effort with nine digs. Nickol added eight.
• The game was the final contest for six senior -- Alyssa Adkins, Trinity Bradley, McCullough, Wilson and Young.
