MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Belmont Abbey junior goalkeeper
Chloe Parker was selected as the Division II Defensive Player of the Week from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Wednesday.
Parker, the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, was recognized for her efforts during the final week of the regular season in which she became the program's new record holder for saves in a career against Limestone. She made nine more saves in the 2-0 win over Coker to add to her total and earn her fourth shutout of the season.
She added seven more saves in the SAC quarterfinal game Tuesday against Lander.
This is the second time in Parker's career that she has earned recognition from the NFHCA after doing so back in September 2021 during her freshman year.
