WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Belmont Abbey concluded play at the Rollins Invitational with a pair of matches Saturday. The Crusaders (0-8) fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-21) to Mississippi College for the second time in as many weeks before dropping a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-21) decision to the host Tars.

THE OPENER

• Mia Samaha tallied eight of the Crusaders' 22 kills. Cameron Young had three, while Baylea Botello and Sarah Wilson had two each.
• Caitlyn Faber registered 12 assists with Young and Ella Schellenberg adding three each.
• Young was also the defensive leader with seven digs. Faber tallied six and Zoe Schuberth five.
• Botello had three of the Crusaders' six block assists.

THE NIGHTCAP

• Freshman Ruby Foster hit . 375 with a career-high nine kills. She also registered a pair of block assists.
• Freshman Jada Foster tallied eight kills.
• Faber was credited with 21 assists, six digs and a pair of aces.
• Schuberth led the defensive effort with a career-high 20 digs.

UP NEXT

• After eight straight matches over two weekend tournaments, The Abbey open its home schedule on Wednesday night at the Wheeler Center.
