FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team began its final road trip of the season with a Conference Carolinas match Friday at Emmanuel.
The Crusaders earned a win in doubles play and a pair of singles matches but it was the Lions who came away with the 5-2 victory.
The team of
Frankee Hendricks and
Laura Seib earned the first victory of the day in doubles play for the Crusaders, winning 6-3 over Emmanuel's Soleny Gonzalez and Shatavisa Ghosh.
Elliott Peterson and
Lily Aranyos earned two points in singles play for the Crusaders. Peterson defeated Darja Chistov 7-6 (9), 6-1 while
Lily Aranyos defeated Zyanya Rogel 8-1 in a pro-set match.
Belmont Abbey is now 13-15 overall and 6-4 in the conference. Emmanuel is 8-14 overall and 7-3 in the league standings.
