Riley D'Andrea scored eight goals and dished out three assists as the Belmont Abbey Women's Lacrosse team earned a 22-12 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic this evening. The Crusaders now stand at 3-3 on the season, while the Sailfish dip to 1-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It took Olivia Carlino less than a minute into the game to put The Abbey on the board, and the Crusaders never looked back from there. She scored again at the 12:00 mark to put BAC in front 3-0
- D'Andrea scored each of the next two goals for Belmont Abbey. Later in the quarter the Crusaders scored three goals in a 1:34 span. D'Andrea set up Jenn Smith for a goal to close out the opening quarter with a 9-3 Abbey advantage. BAC also won 10 draw controls in the period, to PBA's three
- PBA scored in the opening minute of the second, but D'Andrea quickly responded with two goals of her own, including a man-up goal. Mackenzie Kaderabek scored the final goal of the period for the Crusaders, who led 13-5 at halftime
- D'Andrea was the first Crusader to find the back of the net in the third. Later in the period, she scored a man-up goal to put The Abbey in front 15-7. Then she set up Christina Fabrizio for a goal and a 16-8 Abbey lead heading into the final period
- Emma Pherson scored a goal early in the fourth. Kaderabek scored twice in the period, and D'Andrea capped off the scoring with a man-up goal with just under two minutes to play, and Blemont Abbey wrapped up the 22-12 victory
- On the day, D'Andrea was the Crusader leader with eight goals and three assists for 11 points
- Carlino added four goals and three assists, while Kaderabek also scored four times and won a game-high seven draw controls.

- Michelle Guppy made 11 saves in goal
