D'Andrea Scores Five Goals Against Lee

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Riley D'Andrea scored five goals, but the Belmont Abbey Women's Lacrosse team lost a 17-11 game at Lee this afternoon.  The Crusaders are now 2-3 this year, while the Flames improve to 3-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lee scored the first three goals of the contest, but D'Andrea got The Abbey on the board three and a half minutes into the game.  The Flames led 7-1 at the end of the opening quarter
  • D'Andrea scored three goals in a span of 2:31 early in the second, while Mackenzie Kaderabek found the back of the net at the 9:35 mark to pull the Crusaders to within three at 8-5
  • Olivia Carlino capped off the Crusaders' scoring in the half, and Lee led at halftime 10-7
  • It took Christina Fabrizio less than a minute into the third to make it a 10-8 game.  Another score by Carlino kept the Crusaders within two, but two more goals gave Lee a 14-10 lead heading into the final period
  • Sophia Colantuno scored the lone Abbey goal of the fourth, and Lee won the contest 17-11
  • On the day, D'Andrea led the Crusaders with five goals
  • Emma Pherson caused four Lee turnovers.  Michelle Guppy made 10 saves in goal
