MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team earned its first Conference Carolinas win of the season with a 7-0 victory over Chowan Saturday.
There were only six matches with one doubles and two singles matches being won by default.
Kayla Vaughan,
Frankee Hendricks and
Laura Seib all earned wins in doubles and singles play. Vaughan teamed up with
Lily Aranyos to earn a 6-2 victory in No. 1 doubles over Micayah Porter and Sreshta Puducheri and Vaughan earned a 6-1 win over Parter in No. 1 singles.
The team of
Frankee Hendricks and
Laura Seib earned a 7-5 win in doubles and Hendricks added a 6-3, 6-2 win in No. 1 singles. Seib won her match via retirement.
Elliott Peterson was the other Crusader to earn a win in singles play.
Belmont Abbey is now 6-13 overall, 1-2 in the conference. Chowan is 1-6, 0-3.
