ANDERSON, S.C. -- Charles Solomon tallied his fifth career double-double with 17 points and a career-best 14 rebounds, but Belmont Abbey fell just short in an 81-78 setback at Anderson Saturday afternoon. The game marked the end of a four-game road swing to start the season for the Crusaders (0-4).

Four other players reached double figures in scoring, led by Wade Jackson with 14 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Mario Lacy added 13 points and eight boards, while Mason Taylor posted a line of 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.
• KJ Garrett also topped double figures with 10 points, while dishing out a team-high six assists.
• Belmont Abbey hit at least half its shots (30-59/50.8 percent) for third time in four outings.
• The 36 rebounds were a season-high. The Abbey was plus-four on the boards.
