ROCK HILL, S.C. – Belmont Abbey sophomore goalie Chloe Parker was named the Defensive Player of the Week by the South Atlantic Conference Tuesday.
 
Parker earned the award after finishing with a pair of saves and recording a shutout in a 2-0 victory over Coker Sept. 27. The shutout was the third of the season and 11th of Parker's career, extending the program best.
 
It is also the second time this season that Parker earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors by the SAC.
 
Belmont Abbey returns to action with a game against Mount Olive at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alumni Field.
