BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team returned to Conference Carolinas play with a home match against Mount Olive Tuesday at Alumni Field. The Crusaders finished the match with 13 shots but it was the Trojans who came away with the 4-0 victory.
Belmont Abbey is now 1-9-3 overall and 0-4-3 in the conference. Mount Olive is now 9-5 overall, 6-3 in the league.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Davis McBee had the first shot of the match for Belmont Abbey in the 20th minute. He led the team with four shots on the night.
- Mount Olive scored its first goal of the match off a free kick in the 32nd minute.
- The Crusaders added three more goals in the second half in the 48th, 55th and 84th minutes.
- Ian Pitstick and Josh Gregg both made their first starts of the season for The Abbey.
- The Crusaders had four shots on target compared to three for the Trojans.
- Belmont Abbey had four corner kicks.

The Crusaders head on the road to face King at 4 p.m. Saturday in Bristol, Tennessee.
Belmont Abbey will play its final two home matches of the season next week: the first on October 17 against Francis Marion and October 19 against Southern Wesleyan.
