WALESKA, Ga. -- Belmont Abbey men's volleyball returned to the win column Saturday, sweeping a tri-match with Reinhardt and Fort Valley State. The Crusaders defeated the Eagles and Wildcats by identical 3-0 scores (25-23, 25-18, 25-22 and 25-17, 25-14, 25-21, respectively).
With the wins, the Crusaders improve to 5-2 overall.
THE OPENER
- Matteo Miselli registered 12 kills and a .261 hitting percentage. He added an ace and five digs.
- Jake Somers chipped in seven kills, while Andrew Kohut tallied five.
- Matthew Maxwell dished out 26 assists and had six digs, both team highs. He also had a pair of block assists.
- The Crusaders hit .160 as a team, but limited the Eagles to .063.
THE NIGHTCAP
- Andrew Kohut led the offensive attack with eight kills, while Kyle Ferguson hit .545 with seven kills and one error in 11 attempts.
- Somers added six kills against one error in eight tries.
- Freshman Jack Walsh starting in the setter spot, recording 29 assists and three digs.
- Conrad Hill and Riley Mulkey each registered five digs.
UP NEXT
- After four straight matches away from home, the Crusaders return to the Wheeler Center on Wednesday.
- The Abbey hosts Benedict for a 7 p.m. match.
