BELMONT, N.C.— The Belmont Abbey men's volleyball team completed a series sweep of Long Island University Tuesday at the Wheeler Center. The Crusaders defeated the Sharks, 25-20, 25-20, 29-27, to advance to 2-0 on the season. The Sharks are now 0-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Crusaders picked up where they left off from Monday's match and started off Tuesday with a 6-1 run.
• Matteo Miselli closed the set with two kills as part of the final three points of the set. Miselli led The Abbey with a match-high 15 kills.
• The second set was a back-and-forth battle but Belmont Abbey put together a late flurry with a 7-0 run that included four aces from Miselli. T
• he Crusaders managed to rally from multiple six-point deficits in the third set and eventually had a six point surge of its own to pull even at 19-19.
• Brian Knoerr recorded the penultimate point for the Crusaders with one of his 11 kills.
• Jake Somers and Kyle Ferguson added seven kills each for the Abbey. Somers also had nine digs to lead the team.
• Matthew Maxwell finished with a match-high 32 assists and had eight digs.
