AIKEN, S.C. -- Belmont Abbey participated in its second tournament of the 2021 season Friday, dropping a pair of matches at the Pacer Invitational. The Crusaders fell short of Augusta 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-20) in the opener before a 3-1 (24-26, 25-11, 25-13) decision against Lander later in the day.

MATCH ONE

• Paige Rawlins posted a double-double of 18 assists and 11 digs.
• Hailey Ryan (14) and Maya Simmons (12) also reached double figures in digs.
• Lauren Hamilton hit .174 in the contest with a team-high eight kills.
• Caitlyn Faber and Mia Samaha tallied five kills each.

MATCH TWO

• Hamilton led the way with nine kills and a .231 hitting percentage.
• Cameron Young nearly recorded a double-double with eight kills and nine digs.
• Jenna McCullough added seven kills.
• Rawlins dished out 18 assists and had six digs.
• Ryan led the defensive effort with 11 digs.
