Logan Parry scored the lone goal in the 65th minute to help the Belmont Abbey women's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout over Converse this evening. With the win, The Abbey improves to 3-1-2 on the year. Converse is now 2-7-1 overall, with a 1-6-0 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half was a defensive battle, with neither team taking a shot in the first 10 minutes
- In the 11th minute, Corrine Shovlain took the first shot of the day
- Later in the half, Belmont Abbey took five shots in a row, but the match remained scoreless at halftime. The Crusader defense had very strong half, only giving up two Converse shots
- Goose Andrews took the first shot of the second half, in just the 50th minute
- In the 65th minute, Parry got The Abbey on the board for the 1-0 lead, off a pass from Alexis Louis
- The defense continued to limit the Valkyries' scoring opportunities and wrapped up the 1-0 victory
- On the night, the Crusaders outshot the Valkryies 13-6. Goose Andrews took the most shots, with three
